So, Ashley called this morning, and in the space of sixty seconds we decided that I would go to the zoo with her family, had parental permission, and transportation decided.
:3
We went to the one in Gentry, with the petting zoo and kangeroos you can pet and such. There weren't any babies ((big disappointed 'aww' here)), and the lady at the front had me hoping there would be lion cubs. But, it was still awesome. We walked had lunch, then walked around for awhile (and listened to Ashley fawn over the tigers). Then we went into the open lemur cage and hung out with the monkeys for a bit. One of them LOVED Ash. Like, licking her face loved her. He also chewed on her hair. :3 It was funny. Then we left the monkies and she started holding a snake, and Courtney stayed four feet away from her at all times.
And we rode a camel!! Those things are STRONG. We were kinda wondering if we could both ride her, 'cuz together we weigh between 250-300 pounds. But the guy leading her said sure you can both get on! So we did. Her name was Jewel. Riding camels is kewl. We called it "research" for Babylon Book Two when they're in the outside desert-y place. There was a kind of rhythm to the camel rocking, and Ashy was dancing to it. And they're REALLY tall. Yeah. That was kewl.
Then came the drive-thorough part, which was slightly less kewl than last time, but only because they didn't have the little monkies that could get out of their cage and ride on your car. I loved those little guys. One slapped Kailey. But we threw bread out the window for the emu things ((actually, Ashley's sister had the van door open most of the trip)) and at one point there was a train of six camels following us, two of which had their head in the van (at the same time).
Then we went to the petting zoo, and hung out with the kangeroos. And we did NOT go in the goat place. ((This is the zoo my goataphobia started at, by the way)). We went back to the lemur/snake place.
Then we went home. And played hangman for awhile.
And when I got home, be amazed, for I DID some of my homework instead of putting it off more. I read a subsection and did part of my Trig. Be amazed at my un-procrastinator-ness.
And tomorrow is my grandma's party. ((Soap-opera side, for those curious, but it's been less dramatic lately.)) And I shall bring my two textbooks and stay inside with the excuse of doing homework most of the day, and no one will check, for no one could help me with said homework, and they will stay away because of it. :D Which means I could be doing anything. Like writing. Ah, writing, how I hath missed thee...
AND NO EARLY PRACTICE TUESDAY!!
Squee.
